Product Guide: CleanView™ HydroSteam®

Bissell CleanView HydroSteam

When life gets messy, and we can’t always protect the more sensitive areas of our homes, CleanView™ HydroSteam® helps bring carpets and upholstery back to life quickly and effectively. New to BISSELL this year, it’s designed for busy households and combines HydroSteam® Technology with cleaning features that work together to tackle everyday spills, stubborn stains and lingering pet odours.

From muddy paw prints and food spills to embedded dirt in high-traffic areas, this machine is built to handle the kind of messes real homes experience every day. HydroSteam® Technology powers through stubborn spots while deep-cleaning brushes work into carpet fibres to remove hidden dirt.

BISSELL are all about finding ways to make your home a cleaner place. The CleanView™ HydroSteam® has been designed with convenience in mind, without compromising on a clean home. With a generous clean water tank, simple maintenance features and tools for above-floor cleaning, it offers a practical solution for keeping carpets, rugs, stairs and upholstery looking and feeling fresh. Whatever mess you’re tackling, the machine is built to deliver powerful results while making the process easier from start to finish.

Key Features of CleanView™ HydroSteam®

CleanView™ HydroSteam® combines cleaning technologies to make deep carpet cleaning more effective while keeping the process simple. At the centre of the machine is HydroSteam® Technology, which helps loosen and lift stubborn spots so carpets look and smell fresher. For sticky messes, the built-in Steam Pretreat Mode works to break up stains before the main wash begins, helping the machine achieve stronger cleaning results.

The DirtLifter(R) XL PowerBrush then works deep into carpet fibres to remove hidden dirt and debris on every pass. Combined with the SteamWash™ Max Clean Mode, which uses water, BISSELL cleaning formula and steam together, the machine delivers powerful and consistent cleaning performance across a range of carpet types.

CleanView™ HydroSteam® is also built to support longer cleaning sessions. The 3.7-litre clean water tank includes clear fill lines for easy measuring and allows you to clean larger areas with fewer interruptions. When the job is finished, maintenance is designed to be straightforward thanks to the EZ Empty dirty water tank, Catch & Clean tray and an easy brush roll cover, helping to simplify the post-clean process.

For homes with pets, BISSELL Wash & Protect Pro Stain & Odour Formula targets embedded pet stains and odours, helping refresh high-traffic areas and common pet zones. The machine also includes a hose and cleaning tools for above-floor cleaning, making it easy to tackle stairs, upholstery and other soft surfaces around the home.

How to Use CleanView™ HydroSteam®

Assembly

To get started, insert the handle into the machine until it clicks securely into place. Next, attach the clean water tank until it clicks in as well, ensuring a proper seal. Wrap the power cord around the cord wraps on the machine to keep it neat and ready for use. Make sure all parts are correctly fitted before turning the machine on.

Filling the Clean Water Tank

CleanView™ HydroSteam® works best with genuine BISSELL formulas. Lift the clean tank from the machine and flip open the lid. Use the fill lines to match the size of the area you plan to clean, small or large. Add warm tap water (up to 60°C, never boiling) to the appropriate water line, then add the BISSELL cleaning formula to the formula fill line. Close the lid until it clicks, then reinstall the tank onto the machine.

Cleaning Modes and Stain Guide

For sticky messes, use Steam Pretreat Mode. This mode releases steam without engaging the brush roll or vacuum motor to loosen stubborn stains before full cleaning. Press the recline pedal to tip the machine back and pull the trigger to release steam, moving the machine forward and back over the mess for about 20 seconds.

After pretreating, switch to SteamWash™ Max Clean Mode, which combines water, formula and steam with the XL DirtLifter™ PowerBrush to deep-clean carpets and upholstery. Use forward and backward passes for routine cleaning or areas of heavy traffic. Carpets will typically dry in 3 to 4 hours.

For everyday spills like sauces, juice, dirt or mud, skip the pretreat step and go straight to SteamWash™ Max Clean Mode. For tougher stains like chocolate, caramel, oils or spaghetti sauce, Steam Pretreat first to break up the mess. Always follow manufacturer recommendations for carpets and upholstery, and test an inconspicuous spot on rugs to check for colourfastness.

Using the Hose and Tools

For above-floor cleaning of stairs, upholstery or other hard-to-reach areas, open the accessory hose door and insert the hose until it clicks into place. Attach your chosen tool to the end of the hose and slide the tool lever up into spray mode.

Plug in the machine and set it to SteamWash™ Max Clean Mode. While holding the tool above the area to be cleaned, press and hold the trigger to dispense water and formula, then gently scrub the stain with the tool’s bristles. Release the trigger and press the tool firmly against the surface, pulling it toward you to extract the mess. Repeat as needed for thorough results.

CleanView™ HydroSteam® Care & Maintenance

Keeping your CleanView™ HydroSteam® in top condition will keep it delivering strong suction, effective cleaning and long-lasting performance. Regular maintenance is simple and helps your machine continue to deliver professional-quality results. Follow these steps:

Cleaning the Machine

After each use, turn off and unplug the machine, then remove the dirty water tank. Empty the tank and rinse it thoroughly, along with the Catch & Clean tray and brush roll cover. Wipe down the brush roll chamber and steam bar to remove any debris. Then, check the nozzle and hose for blockages and rinse them with warm water and allow all parts to dry completely before reassembling.

Using the Self-Cleaning Cycle

For tougher cleaning jobs or above-floor tool maintenance, the CleanView™ HydroSteam® features a self-cleaning function. Make sure the tank is filled with water and formula, then activate the clean-out mode on the tool. The solution flows through the hose and tool, rinsing away residue. For a more thorough rinse, place the suction nozzle on a soft surface and tilt it back and forth to flush out any remaining debris. After, return the lever to spray mode when finished to continue regular cleaning.

Changing the Brush Rolls and Belts

Over time, brush rolls and belts may wear down or break. Turn off and unplug the machine, and remove both tanks. While reclined on its front, use a screwdriver to remove the belt access cover and lift out the brush roll assembly. Then, remove the cogged belt from the motor shaft, and replace any broken or worn belts. Install the new flat and cogged belts carefully, ensuring they are properly seated on the pulleys. Finally, reinstall the brush roll assembly and secure the belt access cover with screws.

Routine Maintenance Tips

Check for debris or buildup in the nozzle, hose and brush roll chamber regularly. Avoid using household cleaners that are not recommended by BISSELL to prevent damage. Always allow parts to dry completely before reassembling and storing.
