BISSELL® Cordless MultiSurface Wet Dry Vacuum Recall FAQs

Q: Why is BISSELL recalling the Cordless MultiSurface Wet Dry Vacuum 2588F and Cordless MultiSurface Wet Dry Vacuum Professional 2582H?

A: In rare instances, some battery management circuit boards may be susceptible to localized hot spots, posing a risk of overheating and possible risk of fire. We hold the quality of our products and the well-being of our consumer to the highest standards. To minimize any potential hazard to consumers, BISSELL is conducting a voluntary recall of the product.

Q: What products are being recalled, and how can I tell if my product is affected?

A: Cordless MultiSurface Wet Dry Vacuum model number 2588F and Cordless MultiSurface Wet Dry Vacuum Professional model number 2582H. To determine if your machine is affected, look at the model number on the product information label located behind the clean water tank on the back of the machine (see image below). The affected model numbers should match the model numbers listed above.

Q. I have one of the affected models, what do I do now?

Please remove the machine from the charging base, unplug the charger and immediately stop using it. You will need to return the handle of your machine to BISSELL via an Australia Post shop as soon as possible - following our instructions. To start the return process, please fill in this form. You will be entitled to receive a new replacement upgraded Cordless MultiSurface Wet Dry Vacuum.

Q: My product appears to be okay. Can I continue to use it?

A: No. Even though your product appears to be safe, we are asking all consumers to remove the machine from the charging base, unplug the charger and immediately stop using it. You then need to return the handle of the machine to BISSELL. See above to start the returns process.

Q: Does this recall impact other BISSELL® Cordless MultiSurface Wet Dry Vacuum products?

A: No. The issue with the battery is specific to only two Cordless Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vacuums with model numbers 2588F and 2582H. This recall does not impact any other BISSELL® product.

Q. Do I need to return the entire machine to BISSELL?

A. No. You only need to remove and return the handle of the machine. Once you have submitted and registered your details to BISSELL via the online form including the machine model and serial number you will receive instructions on how to remove and return your machine handle. You may return the entire machine to us, including its handle, should you prefer that.

You will be emailed an Australia Post eParcel returns label (the email will come from Australia Post) with instructions on how to apply it to your machine's handle and drop it into your nearest Australia Post Office. Please note, drop the handle off at a physical Australia Post Office to ensure appropriate parcel tracking is enabled.

Due to Australia Post policy - upon receiving your return label from Australia Post via email, you will have 24 hours to download it before it becomes invalid.
