Step-by-Step Guide to Using CrossWave OmniFind
Step 1: Assemble and Charge the Battery
To get started with your CrossWave OmniFind, ensure the machine is fully charged before its first use. If it has been in storage for more than six months, it's essential to charge it fully before use.
First, firmly insert the handle into the body of the machine until it clicks into place. Plug the charging cable into a wall outlet, then place the machine on the docking tray and ensure the charging icon lights up, indicating that it is properly charging. Allow it to charge for at least 4 hours or until the battery reaches 100% – this will help protect the battery health. Before using the machine, don't forget to remove the cardboard insert from the bottom of the foot, which ensures proper operation.
Step 2: Cleaning Your Floors
To begin cleaning, start by preparing the clean water tank. Press the latch to remove the tank and tilt it backward. Open the cap and fill the tank with warm tap water (max 60°C), avoiding boiling water or water heated in the microwave. Now, consult the BISSELL formula guide and add the appropriate cleaning formula up to the formula fill line.
After filling the tank, securely close the cap and reinsert the tank into the machine, tilting it toward the unit until it clicks into place. Next, press the power button to turn the machine on and select your preferred cleaning mode. You can switch between Hard Floor Mode for cleaning sealed hard floors, or Area Rug Mode for refreshing and cleaning rugs and low-pile carpets.
For best results, move the machine forward to wet the floor and backward to extract water and debris. If the dirty water tank becomes full, the dirty tank indicator light will illuminate, signalling that it’s time to empty the tank.
Step 3: Sanitising Hard Floors
If you wish to sanitise hard floors, make sure you are using the BISSELL Hard Floor Sanitise formula, which is specifically designed for sealed hard floors only – you can’t use it on carpets or area rugs, so be sure to read the label of the formula container fully before use.
To sanitise, first clean any visible messes using the cleaning instructions in step 2 above. Then, with the machine in Hard Surface Mode, make forward and backward passes on the floor and the machine will dispense the sanitising solution automatically. Allow the floor to stay visibly wet with the formula for at least five minutes to ensure optimal sanitising results before it dries naturally.
Step 4: Emptying the Dirty Water Tank
After cleaning or whenever the dirty water tank is full, you’ll need to empty the tank to keep your cleaning effective. To remove the dirty water tank, press the button on top of the tank to release it, then pull it out by grabbing the front handle. Next, hold the top of the tank near the filter and pull up to remove the filter. Take out the filter from the lid by pulling on the filter tabs, and check for any debris in the filter and mesh screen, removing any as needed. Pull the strainer tab up and out of the tank to separate debris from the dirty water and dispose of the debris properly.
After pouring out the dirty water, rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water. Reassemble the dirty water tank by placing the strainer back into the tank, reinserting the filter into the lid, and securing the lid. Finally, reinsert the tank into the machine by placing the bottom of the tank first and tilting it toward the unit until it clicks into place.

After each use, empty and rinse the dirty tank and lid. For optimal maintenance, run the Clean-Out Cycle after wet cleaning to clean the brush roll and the machine’s interior. The self-cleaning cycle can be activated with the touch of a button, making upkeep easy.

CrossWave OmniFind is compatible with any BISSELL formula labelled for use in CrossWave machines. Your machine can only use tap water mixed with BISSELL CrossWave formula or plain tap water.
Does the CrossWave leave the floor dry or wet after cleaning?
