Product Guide: BISSELL CleanView Canister Vacuum

The BISSELL CleanView Canister Vacuum makes everyday cleaning simpler, faster and more thorough, regardless of whether you're simply freshening up your carpets or tackling hard floors. Built with multi-cyclonic technology, this vacuum delivers consistent, powerful suction across every surface type, while its lightweight, compact body is easy to carry, steer and store.

With thoughtful features like an Easy Empty Dirt Tank, an extendable wand, and a combination floor tool, the CleanView is made for homes that want performance without the bulk. Let’s explore what makes this vacuum a cleaning essential for any modern household.

Key Features of the CleanView Canister Vacuum

The BISSELL CleanView Canister Vacuum offers a powerful, efficient clean with features designed to make everyday vacuuming easier. At its core is multi-cyclonic technology, which delivers continuous suction and helps prevent dust from clogging the filters, so you get consistent performance and a deeper clean every time. Emptying the vacuum is quick and hygienic thanks to the Easy Empty dirt tank, which releases debris from the bottom with a simple press, keeping your hands clean and the process mess-free.

Versatility is another standout of the CleanView. The combination floor tool lets you move seamlessly between carpets and hard floors, while the included crevice tool and dusting brush help tackle corners, furniture and other above-floor surfaces.

With its lightweight and compact build, it's easy to carry from room to room and store away when not in use. So, it’s the perfect portable vacuum, whip it around your kitchen to clean after cooking, keep your home office clean after a work day, into the nursery for easy cleaning and hygiene and anywhere you regularly need to clean. Swivel steering combined with the extendable wand makes it highly manoeuvrable, so you can navigate around furniture and tight spaces with minimal effort.

How to Use the CleanView Canister Vacuum

Step 1: Assembly

Important: Do not plug in your vacuum until you’ve fully assembled the unit and reviewed all safety instructions.

Begin by pushing the handle into the top of the extension wand until it clicks into place securely. Next, connect the hose into the vacuum body – you should hear a distinct "click" to confirm it's properly attached. Then, attach the floor tool to the bottom of the extension wand, making sure it’s firmly locked in. Adjust the wand length by pressing the extension button and pulling to your desired height. If you'd like to keep your accessories within reach, clip the accessory tool holder onto the handle. For easy storage when not in use, the floor tool can be parked on the rear of the vacuum.

Note: If your model includes a Turbine Carpet or Air Driven Tool, follow the same assembly steps by inserting the wand into the specialised tool until it clicks securely.

Step 2: Power On & Adjust for Floor Type

Once assembled, pull out the power cord and plug the vacuum into a wall socket. Press the Power button to switch the vacuum on. The Combination Floor Tool is designed for both carpet and hard floors. For hard floor cleaning, make sure the brush bar is lowered by keeping the pedal in the up position. When switching to carpet, press the pedal down to retract the brush bar and ensure optimal suction.

Step 3: Above-Floor Cleaning

The CleanView also makes it easy to clean above-floor surfaces. Use the crevice tool for those hard-to-reach spaces like skirting boards, couch seams and tight corners. For delicate surfaces such as shelves, vents or table tops, the dusting brush is ideal. To use these tools, simply remove them from the accessory clip and attach them to the handle end of the wand.

Step 4: Power Off & Cord Storage

When you’re finished vacuuming, press the Power button again to turn off the machine. Unplug the cord from the wall outlet, then press the cord rewind button. This will automatically retract the cable into the vacuum for neat and convenient storage.

The CleanView Canister Vacuum is Perfect For…

The CleanView Canister Vacuum is an excellent choice for busy households where messes can appear in the blink of an eye – especially if you have pets, kids or both – it’s a perfect machine to have pets and a clean home at the same time. From pet hair on rugs to crumbs under the kitchen table, its powerful suction and versatile attachments make it easy to stay on top of everyday dirt.

If you live in an apartment or smaller home, you’ll appreciate the vacuum’s compact design, which takes up minimal storage space while still delivering full-sized cleaning performance. It’s also ideal for those who hate the hassle of heavy, bulky machines but don’t want to sacrifice cleaning power.

For anyone looking for a low-maintenance, multi-surface solution, the CleanView is designed to handle everything from carpets and hard floors to upholstery and corners, without fuss. Its combination of professional-level performance and user-friendly design makes it a reliable cleaning companion for just about any home.

Care & Maintenance for your CleanView Canister Vacuum

Keeping your CleanView in great condition is essential to maintaining strong suction and ensuring reliable performance over time. One key thing to remember is to never operate your vacuum without all filters properly installed and completely dry. Doing so may affect performance and could damage the unit.

With a few simple maintenance steps, you can keep your vacuum running like new for years to come.

Emptying the Dirt Tank

Regularly emptying the dirt tank helps your vacuum work at its best, so try to do it after each cleaning session. To do this, press the dirt container release button and use the handle to pull the container away from the vacuum body. Hold it over a rubbish bin and press the bottom release button to empty the contents directly into the bin, avoiding contact with dust and debris. Once empty, snap all parts back into place until secure.

Cleaning the Filters

To maintain strong airflow and suction, it's important to clean your filters regularly. Always allow all filter components to air dry for at least 24 hours before putting them back into the machine.

Pre-Motor Filters

Start by removing the dirt tank, then twist off the tank's top (counter-clockwise) and pull up to access the internal components. Disassemble the cyclone system by twisting to separate the three parts: the black primary cyclone, mesh filter frame and primary separator. Remove the foam and pleated filters, rinse them thoroughly with water and allow them to dry completely before reassembly.

Post-Motor Filter

To access the post-motor filter, press the release button on the back of the vacuum and open the filter door. Remove the filter and rinse it under running water, then let it air dry completely for 24 hours. Once dry, place it back into position and close the filter door securely.

Frequently Asked Questions

What surfaces can I use the CleanView Canister Vacuum on?

It’s safe for use on sealed hard floors, low- to medium-pile carpets, area rugs, and above-floor surfaces using the attachments.

How do I know when to empty the dirt tank?

You’ll notice a drop in suction or see debris building up in the clear tank. Empty it when it reaches the max fill line for best performance.

Do I need to replace the filters?

The filters are washable and reusable, but over time, they may need replacement. If cleaning doesn’t restore performance, consider replacing them according to BISSELL guidelines.

Why does my vacuum have less suction than before?

Usually, this is because of some build up and your suction can be restored with some simple maintenance. This can be done by emptying the dirt tank, unclogging and cleaning filters or removing blockages from the hose or attachments.
