Product Guide: CrossWave Edge Cordless

Product Guide - CrossWave Edge Cordless

Designed for busy households that want faster, more flexible cleaning, BISSELL CrossWave Edge Cordless delivers cordless freedom for quicker, more efficient cleaning. As part of the new collection of BISSELL products in 2026, this all-in-one multi-surface cleaner vacuums and mops at the same time, capturing wet and dry messes in a single pass – without being tied to a power point.

New to BISSELL in 2026, the CrossWave Edge Cordless is the newest addition to the iconic CrossWave range. It offers ZeroGapTM Technology for edge-to-edge cleaning, up to 22 minutes of cordless runtime (may vary based on mode and usage) and simple, hygienic upkeep. It’s engineered to keep homes clean with less effort, and designed for everyday messes – from dirty footprints and food spills to pet fur and muddy trails – and for people who value performance and convenience in one premium device.

BISSELL is all about finding ways to make your home a cleaner place. We understand that cordless cleaners must still deliver real cleaning results. In this product guide, we’ll show you how CrossWave Edge Cordless works, how to use it effectively and why it’s built to confidently replace separate vacuuming and mopping steps, without compromising on performance or hygiene.

Key Features of the CrossWave Edge Cordless

The CrossWave Edge Cordless is designed to simplify everyday floor cleaning by vacuuming and mopping at the same time. Powerful suction picks up dry debris like dirt, crumbs and pet hair, while the rotating brush roll washes floors using BISSELL cleaning solution, eliminating the need to vacuum first and mop later. This dual-action approach saves time and makes it easier to stay on top of daily messes, particularly in high-traffic areas like kitchens, entryways and pet feeding zones.

ZeroGapTM Technology ensures mess is removed right up to walls and skirting boards on one side of the machine, delivering a visible before-and-after result with no dusty line left behind. This makes it ideal for cleaning along cabinets, walls and tight spaces where dirt and debris tend to collect.

With cordless freedom and up to 22 minutes of runtime (may vary based on mode and usage), the Edge Cordless allows you to move easily between rooms without stopping to unplug or change outlets. Two-Tank Technology keeps clean water and cleaning solution separate from dirty water, so every pass is hygienic, and you’re never spreading grime back onto your floors.

Maintenance is quick and low-effort thanks to the built-in Self-Cleaning Cycle, which flushes dirt, hair and debris from the brush roll and internal system after use. Combined with a design that helps minimise hair wrap, the CrossWave Edge Cordless stays fresh, clean and ready for the next clean.

How to Use the CrossWave Edge Cordless Step-by-Step

Step 1: Assemble & Charge Before First Use

Before your first clean, firmly insert the handle into the body of the machine until it clicks into place.

Place the CrossWave Edge Cordless onto the docking station and plug the charger into a power outlet. Ensure the charging icon illuminates, then allow the battery to charge for approximately 3 hours or until it reaches 100%.

Always unplug the charger before moving the machine off the docking station.

Step 2: Fill the Clean Water Tank

Remove the clean water tank from the back of the machine. Unscrew the cap and fill with warm tap water (up to 60°C) to the water fill line (620 mL).

Add BISSELL multi-surface cleaning formula to the formula line (88 mL), then securely screw the cap back on.

Slide the tank back into the machine until it clicks into place.

Step 3: Power On & Select Cleaning Mode

Press the power button to turn the machine on. By default, it will start in Hard Floor Mode, ideal for sealed hard floors and everyday wet and dry messes.

If cleaning area rugs, press the Multi-Surface button to switch between:

  • Hard Floor Mode – for sealed hard floors and wet/dry messes

  • Area Rug Mode – for refreshing low-pile rugs and dry debris

Step 4: Start Cleaning

Recline the handle to activate suction, the rotating brush roll, and automatic cleaning solution dispense.

The machine will begin dispensing solution automatically while reclined, no trigger required.

For best results:

  • Use slow, steady forward and backward strokes

  • Allow up to 15 seconds for the brush roll to fully wet on first use

  • Position the ZeroGapTM Technology side against walls or skirting boards to capture debris right up to the edge

The floor surface may remain visibly damp for several minutes after cleaning, which is normal.

Step 5: Maximise Drying with Backward Passes

To help floors dry faster, continue with slow backward passes. The CrossWave Edge Cordless will extract excess water and debris while maintaining cleaning performance.

Step 6: Monitor the Dirty Water Tank

Keep an eye on the dirty water tank during use. Do not allow the water level to rise above the ‘MAX’ line.

When full, the float will engage, suction will reduce, and the sound of the machine will change. This indicates it’s time to empty the tank.

The CrossWave Edge Cordless Is Perfect For

CrossWave Edge Cordless is ideal for busy households who want a high-quality, faster, more efficient cleaning without cords getting in the way. It’s especially well-suited to homes with hard floors and area rugs, where everyday wet and dry vacuums can give all kinds of messes the quick attention they need.

For pet owners, it helps manage fur, muddy paw prints and food spills in a single clean. For time-poor households, cordless freedom makes it easier to fit cleaning into a packed routine, without sacrificing visible results or hygiene.

Maintenance & Care

Regular maintenance helps keep the CrossWave Edge Cordless performing at its best and ensures hygienic cleaning every time. With simple, guided upkeep steps and a built-in clean-out cycle, ongoing care is quick and low-effort.

Emptying the Dirty Water Tank

After each clean, remove and empty the dirty water tank to prevent odours and maintain suction performance.

To remove the tank, press the dirty water tank release button, grip the front handle and pull the tank out.

Hold the top of the tank near the BISSELL filter and lift upward to remove the lid. Clear any debris from the filter and mesh screen, then empty and thoroughly rinse the tank.

Reinstall the lid, then place the bottom of the tank into the machine first. Tilt the tank toward the machine until it clicks securely into place.

Using the Self-Cleaning Mode

The Self-Clean Mode  flushes dirt, hair and debris from the brush roll and internal system and should be used after each cleaning session.

Before starting, ensure the dirty water tank is empty and the filter remains dry. Check that the clean water tank is filled to the Clean-Out Cycle line, topping up with water if needed.

Place the machine onto the docking station and plug the charging cable into the outlet. Self-Cleaning Modewill only operate while the machine is docked. Press the Clean-Out Cycle button to begin. The cycle runs for approximately 40 seconds.

Once complete, empty the dirty water tank again. For best results, remove the brush roll and place it in the brush roll holder on the docking station to air dry.

Brush Roll Care & Replacement

To maintain optimal cleaning performance, periodically remove the brush roll to clear hair or debris and allow it to dry fully between uses.

Press the brush roll window release and pull the window toward you to remove it. Pull the brush roll tab to lift the brush roll out, then place it in the holder on the docking station to air dry.

To reinstall, insert the right side of the brush roll first, rotate it downward and lock the left tab into place. Reattach the brush roll window by aligning the tabs at the bottom edge of the foot and rotating it toward the machine until it clicks.

After-Cleaning Care

For a deeper clean and longer product life, BISSELL recommends the following after-cleaning routine:

First, remove the brush roll window and brush roll and allow the brush roll to air dry completely in the holder. Wipe away any excess water or dirt from the machine body. Empty the dirty water tank and remove the filter from the lid. Open the screen and clear any debris.

Wash the filter in warm water and allow it to dry fully before reinstalling. Filters should be replaced approximately every three months. Rinse the tank lid and float to remove residue and ensure the float moves freely. Allow all components to air dry completely before reassembling.

Reinstall the brush roll, filter and tank lid. Insert the bottom of the dirty water tank first, then pivot the top toward the machine until it clicks into place.
